Green Riverland

Green Riverland Partnership is situated in South-West Estonia. Membership: total 96 members, 12 local authorities from Pärnu County (Halinga, Are, Tori, Vändra, Paikuse, Surju, Tootsi parishes and Vändra borough, Sindi town), Viljandi County (Suure-Jaani, Kõpu parishes) and Rapla County (Järvakandi parish).


The region is defined by natural borders – swamps, big forests and rivers. In the centre of the area lies Soomaa National Park. The greatest wealth of the region is its rich environment. Thanks for natural resources there are advanced tourism, agriculture and forestry services, handicraft and social work in the region.

The main aim of Green Riverland Partnership is to promote and support local initiative and development of rural living environment, create and implement local integrated strategy of the region relying on the partnership of three sectors – local authorities, business and non-profit organizations.
